Patna : RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav extended congratulations to JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time. He also conveyed his best wishes to all newly inducted ministers in the NDA government. Yadav wrote that he “heartily congratulates” Nitish Kumar on assuming the Chief Minister’s post and extends “best wishes” to all ministers who took oath.
Expressing hope, he said the new government must meet the expectations of the people, fulfill its promises and declarations, and bring “positive and qualitative change” to the lives of Bihar’s residents. Nitish Kumar, 74, was sworn in at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan days after spearheading the NDA to a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Apart from the trio, 24 ministers were administered the oath of office by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in the presence of top BJP and NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The NDA secured a dominant mandate, winning 202 of the 243 seats, its second time crossing the 200-seat mark after its 206-seat victory in 2010. The Mahagathbandhan managed only 35 seats.
The NDA tally included 89 seats for the BJP, 85 for JD(U), 19 for LJP (Ram Vilas), five for HAMS, and four for Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Among the opposition, the RJD won 25 seats, the Congress six, CPI(ML)(L) two, IIP one, and CPI(M) one.
