Ranveer Allahbadia Apologizes and Commits to Mindful Speech Amid IGL Controversy

Content creators connected to the controversial episode of India’s Got Latent have appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) and issued formal apologies for their remarks. The incident, which sparked public backlash over vulgar comments involving parents and sex, prompted swift action from the NCW.
During a press briefing, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar confirmed that key figures including YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija (known as The Rebel Kid), comedian Samay Raina (the show’s host), along with Jaspreet Singh and Ashish Chanchlani attended the hearing. Producers Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, as well as legal representatives for Jaspreet Singh and Ashish Chanchlani, were also present.
Rahakar sharply criticized the language used on the show, describing it as “absolutely indecent” and emphasizing that such speech is unacceptable both to the public and the Commission. She explained that the NCW acted immediately upon noticing the social impact of the offensive words and issued notices to those involved.

At the hearing, all parties expressed regret for their statements. They pledged not to repeat such language in the future and promised to choose their words more carefully to ensure respect for everyone. “They admitted their mistake and assured us that this is the first and last time they will allow such lapses,” Rahatkar stated, noting that while the words cannot be undone, the commitment to mindful communication was clear.
The controversy has already led to several FIRs being filed against Ranveer Allahbadia for his comments. Despite the uproar, the Supreme Court recently granted him interim protection from arrest, calling the remarks “vulgar” and commenting on the broader negative impact on society.
