Rahul Gandhi Visits Zubeen Garg’s Family in Guwahati, Pays Heartfelt Tribute; Singapore Police Dismiss Foul Play Rumors

Assam: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the family of late Assamese singer Zubeen Garg at their Guwahati residence on Friday, offering condolences and sharing an emotional tribute in memory of the beloved artist. Zubeen’s sudden passing in Singapore last month has left fans and the music community across India in mourning.

In recently surfaced visuals, Rahul is seen meeting Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and other close relatives, comforting them during this difficult time. Speaking to the media outside the family’s home, Rahul said, “It saddens me deeply to be here under such circumstances. I wish I could have come at a happier moment.” He recalled a personal connection, saying, “When I trained in Sikkim, I loved Mount Kanchenjunga for its honesty and resilience. Gaurav Gogoi told me Zubeen saw himself as like Kanchenjunga, and I felt that, too he was successful, humble, and a source of pride for Assam.”

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 in Singapore. In response to speculation, Singapore Police issued a statement clarifying that their preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play, and the case is being managed under the country’s Coroners Act. Authorities requested public patience as they conduct a thorough investigation, which may take another three months, and discouraged the spread of unverified rumors.
