Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in Israel on Wednesday, where he received a warm welcome from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu at Ben Gurion International Airport. The visit, scheduled over two days, comes as both nations look to reaffirm their long-standing strategic partnership and jointly address common challenges.
The six-hour flight from New Delhi drew significant global attention, becoming the most tracked flight in the world on Wednesday, according to FlightRadar24.
This marks Modi’s second visit to Israel during his decade-long tenure as India’s Prime Minister the first having taken place in 2017. Following a brief bilateral meeting between the two leaders, Modi and Netanyahu are set to attend a special session at the Knesset, where both will deliver speeches in the plenum.
After the parliamentary proceedings, the two Prime Ministers will jointly visit an innovation event in Jerusalem before sitting down for a private dinner. Modi is also scheduled to call on Israeli President Isaac Herzog during the visit.
The bilateral agenda includes a review of the progress made under the India-Israel Strategic Partnership, with discussions expected to span science and technology, innovation, defence and security, agriculture, water management, trade and economy, and people-to-people exchanges.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs, in an official statement, noted that “the leaders are also expected to exchange perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest.”
The MEA further stated, “This visit to Tel Aviv aims to reaffirm the deep and long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries and will present an opportunity to review the common challenges as well as realign efforts towards achieving their shared vision for a robust partnership between two resilient democracies.”
