Barmer : A Rajasthan nurse arrested for allegedly extorting Rs 2 crore from a 65-year-old doctor has levelled explosive counter-allegations, accusing him of sexually assaulting more than 100 women over the years. The accused, Kamla alias Kamlesh, described the doctor as a “serial rapist” and claimed he sexually exploited several women patients who visited his private hospital.
She alleged that some victims had approached the police in the past, but the complaints were allegedly suppressed after monetary settlements. She also claimed the extortion case against her was fabricated to silence her accusations. The nurse further alleged that two hospital employees helped the doctor lure women to him. Police, however, said there is no official evidence so far to support the nurse’s allegations. Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the extortion case independently and have not confirmed any of the sexual assault claims.
The doctor alleged that she later threatened to leak the photographs on social media, implicate him in a false rape case and have him killed unless he paid her money. Fearing damage to his reputation and the hospital’s image, he claimed he continued paying her over several years. The nurse extorted nearly Rs 2 crore from him in addition to drawing her regular salary. Police said around Rs 35 lakh was transferred online from the doctor’s personal and hospital bank accounts, while the complainant also alleged that she forced him to sign blank cheques and stamp papers, which she allegedly stored in a bank locker.
The doctor also claimed the nurse kept him under constant surveillance by monitoring CCTV cameras installed in the hospital. He alleged that she provided him with a separate mobile phone and SIM card and insisted that it remain switched on at all times to track his location. Police said the accused has been remanded to judicial custody and is allegedly not cooperating with the investigation. Officials claimed she has repeatedly denied the extortion allegations while attempting to mislead investigators.
