New Delhi : Union minister Piyush Goyal, former Union minister Smriti Irani, RSS national executive member Ram Madhav and ex-Chief Ministers Biplab Kumar Deb and Tirath Singh Rawat were among the top names announced as BJP national office bearers as party chief Nitin Nabin revealed his core team. Goyal was named the treasurer, Ram Madhav and Rawat have been named national Vice Presidents, while Irani has been named a general secretary.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Baijayant Jay Panda, Rekha Verma and Tariq Mansoor have retained their positions as national vice presidents. Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal will continue as national general secretaries, while BL Santhosh remains national general secretary (organisation). Amit Malviya, who is the party’s social media and IT cell head, is missing in the new BJP list. Moreover, Deepak Mhaskey has been named the BJP’s social media convenor.
The other vice presidents are former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, D Purandeswari, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, M Nagaraja and Madhuchandra Kar. Smriti Irani is among eight leaders appointed national general secretaries. The others are Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.
Former Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta has been elevated as a BJP national secretary. Anil Antony has retained the same position. Union minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed the BJP’s national treasurer, with Rajesh Mangal named national joint treasurer. The party also announced appointments to its organisational and outreach wings. Sambit Patra has been made the North-East coordinator, while Tarun Chugh has been appointed central office in-charge.
