New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a significant breakthrough in the Delhi car blast investigation with the arrest of a Kashmiri man who allegedly plotted with Umar Un Nabi, the suspect who drove the explosives-packed vehicle, to execute the terror attack near the Red Fort that claimed 10 lives.
The anti-terror agency arrested Amir Rashid Ali, the registered owner of the Hyundai i20 used in the November 10 assault. Ali was apprehended from Delhi by the central investigating body.
“NIA investigations had revealed that the accused, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to unleash the terror attack,” the probe agency stated.
Amir Rashid Ali reportedly traveled to Delhi to assist in acquiring the Hyundai i20 that was deployed in the attack. Numerous CCTV cameras captured the vehicle making several stops at major junctions in the congested Old Delhi neighborhood before the explosives detonated at a crowded intersection on November 10 evening.

NIA forensic analysis confirmed the deceased driver’s identity as Umar Un Nabi, a Pulwama district resident who served as an Assistant Professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad.
On Saturday, Delhi Police detained three individuals, including two medical professionals from Haryana’s Al Falah University, which has emerged as a critical connection in the terror module investigation.
The NIA stated it is following multiple investigative leads to expose the broader conspiracy behind the bombing and identify additional individuals connected to the case.
The counter-terrorism agency reported seizing another vehicle owned by Umar. The vehicle is undergoing forensic examination for evidence in the case, where NIA has questioned 73 witnesses to date, including blast victims.
