New Delhi : A new CCTV clip from Delhi has surfaced showing a speeding Scorpio SUV moments before it ploughed into a motorcycle and a taxi, killing a 23-year-old man. The accident took place in Delhi’s Dwarka. A case was registered at PS Dwarka South on receipt of a PCR call regarding a fatal road accident near Lal Bahadur Shastri College, Delhi Police said. When we reached the spot, two cars one taxi and one motorcycle were found in an accidental condition.
The motorcycle rider, later identified as Sahil Dhaneshra 23 yrs, was found dead on the spot. Police said the Scorpio first collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and then rammed into a roadside parked taxi. The injured taxi driver, identified as Ajit Singh, was shifted to IGI Hospital. His statement has been recorded and the final medical opinion is awaited. The driver of the SUV, identified as Akshatra Singh, was found without a driving licence. Police confirmed that he is 17 years old. However, the case saw confusion in the initial stages.
Police have detained and later released the father of the accused. He will be named in the chargesheet under the Motor Vehicles Act. DCP Dwarka Ankit Kumar Singh said earlier that no evidence has emerged to suggest that any stunt was being performed at the time of the crash. The cause of death has been recorded as haemorrhagic shock as a result of cranio cerebral injury and injuries to the right upper limb along with injuries to vital organs.
He added that Sahil had been considering plans to go abroad. I had a hint from his mother. They probably wanted to send him to Manchester or Germany. He asked me about it. But I refused because my entire family is here and my business is all set up here.
