Mukesh Ambani Tops Hurun India Rich List 2025, SRK Joins Billionaire Club

New Delhi : Mukesh Ambani and his family have once again emerged as India’s wealthiest, with a staggering net worth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore. Gautam Adani and his family follow closely with Rs 8.15 lakh crore, showing the intense rivalry at the top of India’s billionaire ladder. The report noted that it is inspiring to see new entrants reshaping India’s wealth landscape, highlighting the growing presence of women entrepreneurs in the country.

The total number of billionaires has now crossed 350, a sixfold increase since the list began 13 years ago. Together, their wealth amounts to Rs 167 lakh crore, nearly half of India’s GDP. Young wealth creators are making waves. Aravind Srinivas, 31, founder of Perplexity, became India’s youngest billionaire with Rs 21,190 crore. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also joined the club for the first time, with a net worth of Rs 12,490 crore, showing that fame and business success can go hand in hand.

Niraj Bajaj and his family recorded the largest jump, adding Rs 69,875 crore to reach Rs 2.33 lakh crore. This highlights the dynamic nature of India’s wealth creation, with fortunes rising rapidly across sectors. India’s billionaire scene is still led by Mumbai, home to 451 wealthiest individuals, followed by New Delhi with 223 and Bengaluru with 116. Pharmaceuticals dominate with 137 entrants, while industrial products (132) and chemicals & petrochemicals (125) come next. The list also reflects the growing presence of women entrepreneurs, with 101 women featuring in 2025, including 26 dollar billionaires.
