New Delhi : The Delhi Police have busted a major international illegal arms racket that was supplying China and Turkey-made weapons to those involved with the notorious gangs of Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha and Gogi Himanshu Bhai. The consignments used to enter India via Punjab with the use of drones and from there the weapons were supplied to the gangs.
The accused individuals are residents of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. A large consignment of weapons, including high-end pistols, were recovered from them. Police conducted raids in the Rohini area after acting on a tip-off, which mentioned smugglers arriving in Delhi to supply weapons. Delhi Police Crime Branch team has busted an arms gang being operated by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
Total four people have been arrested and 10 sophisticated pistols have been recovered. Five pistols are made in Turkey and three made in China,” CP Crime Surender Kumar told reporters. He added that on November 19, two of the four accused – namely Mandeep from Phillaur and Dalwinder from Ludhiana – were arrested when they were en route to deliver the weapons to someone in Rohini.
Later, during interrogation, raids were conducted on the basis of information gathered, and two more weapons were recovered. The third person arrested in the case is Rohan Tomar, a resident of UP’s Baghpat and fourth arrested person has been identified as Ajay alias Monu, he added.
