
Malda : A series of high-voltage political moments marked the ongoing Assembly Election 2026 campaign across states, with leaders sharpening their attacks and energising supporters. In Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma drew massive crowds in Abhayapuri, even dancing on stage as supporters celebrated with masks and music. In Tamil Nadu, CM MK Stalin challenged the BJP-led NDA over its stand on the three-language policy, alleging attempts to impose Hindi.

The Prime Minister assured states that those which have performed well in population control will not face any loss in seat distribution, adding that they will also benefit and that fair participation of all states will be ensured. He said all rights would be upheld and expressed confidence that the matter would be cleared in Parliament so that every state gains.

Addressing a public meeting in Cooch Behar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters not to be intimidated on polling day, saying they should trust in the law. He alleged that TMC “goons” were trying to create fear but asserted that it would be driven out of Bengal with a BJP victory. Modi said that after the elections, a “full accounting” of the TMC’s actions would be carried out and that the law would take its course, adding that justice would be served regardless of how powerful the accused may be.
The Prime Minister said that the Parivartan Yatra in West Bengal from Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground and witnessed strong public enthusiasm. He added that the response from people has left the entire TMC syndicate “scared.”
