Iran Claims Its Missiles Hit Netanyahu’s Office, How Did Conflict Expand To Lebanon After Khamenei’s Death?

Tehran : Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Monday it had carried out strikes on Israeli government and military targets, including the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.The office of the criminal prime minister of the Zionist regime and the headquarters of the regime’s air force commander were targeted,” the IRGC said in a statement.

The Guards, which reported to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US-Israeli strikes on Saturday. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said the targeted locations were “severely hit” during the tenth phase of retaliatory operations. Iranian state media claimed Benjamin Netanyahu’s fate was “uncertain.” Israel has issued no confirmation of any hit on the Prime Minister’s office.

Tehran announced it has launched ten waves of missile and drone attacks since the joint US–Israeli strikes on Saturday that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iranian officials have framed the campaign as lawful self-defence and said Israeli territory and US bases in the region are being struck in successive phases. Fresh explosions were heard over Jerusalem on Monday.

Israel and the US have struck targets across Iran since Saturday. The war that began with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s killing has engulfed the region, with explosions ringing in Dubai, Bahrain, Iraq and elsewhere, causing chaos with hundreds of flights cancelled and the strategic Strait of Hormuz all but paralysed.

Israel bombarded Lebanon on Monday following rocket fire from Hezbollah, several American warplanes crashed in Kuwait, with the US saying three of its jets were down and blaming Kuwait for the ‘friendly fire’. Iran lashed out against the region with missiles, as the war with Israel and the United States expanded.
