This major reshuffle of the government is seen as part of a strategy to inject new energy and fresh faces into the party’s organisation and governance ahead of the upcoming crucial local body elections and the 2027 assembly elections. The move is believed to have been taken by the BJP high command to reduce the anti-incumbency wave and maintain caste and regional balance.
It is noteworthy that before this oath-taking ceremony, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met Governor Acharya Devvratji at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar today. During this, the Chief Minister informed the Governor about the current status of the Gujarat Council of Ministers. He also sought permission from the Governor to hold the oath-taking ceremony of the members of the Council of Ministers.
