Gujarat Titans began their chase with intent as Shubman Gill struck 33 off 14 balls. However, the innings was anchored by Sai Sudharsan’s resilient 74 off 41 balls, with Jos Buttler providing brisk support by scoring 54 off 33. Sherfane Rutherford further contributed 46 off 28, yet the Titans’ momentum was stifled by Punjab’s timely bowling. Arshdeep Singh, with figures of 2/36, proved decisive by claiming Sudharsan’s wicket in the 13th over and removing Rutherford in the final over to seal the match.
Earlier, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with a spectacular 97* off 42 balls, setting a robust foundation for the team. His efforts were ably backed by Priyansh Arya, who scored 47 off 23, and Shashank Singh, who made 44 off 16. Although GT’s Sai Kishore impressed with figures of 3/30, his efforts were not enough to counter the aggressive display from Punjab’s batting lineup.
