Four Dead In Washington State Stabbing Rampage; Attacker Fatally Shot By Deputy

Washington: In a shocking incident in Gig Harbor, Washington, a 32-year-old man allegedly stabbed four individuals to death amid reports of a no-contact order violation, according to the New York Post. The attack unfolded on Tuesday morning, February 24, in a serene cul-de-sac within the upscale Key Peninsula community. Authorities from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported that three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth was urgently transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to their injuries.

The suspect was confronted and shot dead by the sole responding deputy on site. Tacoma Police Officer Shelbie Boyd noted that the connection between the assailant and the victims remains unclear at this stage.

As detailed in a Facebook post by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the episode involved five victims in total, with the suspect among the four initially found deceased at the location. The fifth victim passed away after being airlifted by Gig Harbor Fire personnel.

Law enforcement first received a call around 8:40 a.m. regarding an ongoing no-contact order breach. However, upon review, deputies discovered the order had not been formally served, rendering any violation invalid. Boyd explained that for such an order to hold, the individual must be notified of the judicial restrictions on contact.

En route to the residence, officers were alerted to a man actively stabbing people outside the home. The identity of the initial caller reporting the stabbings is unknown, though Boyd suggested it was likely someone aware of the protective order.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team is leading the probe into the event. Officials described the scene as highly active, with efforts ongoing to confirm the victims’ identities. No further details on motives or additional suspects have been released.
