A devastating fire tore through a firecracker factory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Tuesday, leaving Six people dead and six others injured, according to local authorities. The blaze, which triggered a chain of explosions, caused significant structural damage near Deesa town, raising fears that additional workers may still be trapped beneath the debris.
Inspector Vijay Chaudhary of the Deesa rural police station reported that the fire led to the collapse of parts of the facility, complicating rescue efforts. Firefighters from the Deesa municipality are actively working at the site to free those believed to be caught in the wreckage, he added.
A district administration official confirmed the fatalities, noting that the six injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby civil hospital for medical care. The incident has underscored the dangers faced by workers in such facilities, with emergency response teams continuing their efforts to manage the crisis.
