CBI Conducts Searches at Ex-Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s Home

New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted searches at the home of ex-Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, officials have confirmed. Teams of the agency targeted several addresses, including Baghel’s houses in Raipur and Bhilai, the house of a top police official, and a close aide of the ex-CM.

The CBI has been keeping quiet on the direction of the probe or the actual case under which the searches have been conducted. So far, no additional information has been released by the agency on the basis for the move.

This follows closely after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also searched Baghel’s house in relation to an alleged liquor scam case. The latest CBI search is added to the increasing scrutiny of the former CM.
