Assassination Threat : US President Donald Trump Warns Iran Of Devastating Military Response

New York : US President Donald Trump on Saturday said he has authorised a massive US military response if Iran attempts to assassinate him. He claimed that “1,000 missiles are locked and loaded” and ready to strike Iran in the event of such an attack. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had already given standing orders to the US military to launch a large-scale strike if Iran carried out or attempted to assassinate a sitting US president.

Trump further said the authorisation would remain in place for at least one year, with the option of extending it. He claimed the US military had orders to “completely decimate and destroy” targets across Iran if any assassination attempt took place. The statement echoed comments Trump made in an interview with the New York Post, where he said he had left clear instructions for an unprecedented military response in the event of his assassination.

At the same time, Trump said there was no fresh intelligence suggesting an assassination plot against him. He also rejected reports claiming Israel had uncovered new information about an alleged Iranian plan to target him. Earlier this week, Trump again described himself as Iran’s “number one target” and reiterated that Tehran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. He also said he did not expect any future confrontation with Iran to develop into a prolonged conflict.

Iran has repeatedly threatened to avenge the 2020 US drone strike ordered by Trump that killed top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani near Baghdad. Since then, US authorities have revealed several alleged Iran-linked plots targeting Trump, although Tehran has consistently denied any role.
