Global Leaders Converge In New Delhi As PM Modi Addresses Landmark India AI Impact Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver a prominent address at the India AI Impact Summit on February 19, 2026, bringing together an array of international heads of state, government officials, and leading figures from the technology sector at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The high-profile plenary session features participation from several world leaders and top executives. Prime Minister Modi’s speech will be followed by keynote addresses from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google DeepMind CEO Dennis Hassabis, and Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani. Additional keynote speakers include Gates Foundation Chair Bill Gates and Microsoft President Brad Smith.

The summit, positioned as India’s premier global artificial intelligence forum, continues the tradition of major multilateral AI gatherings previously hosted in the United Kingdom, France, and South Korea. Among the notable international attendees are French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish President Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Responding to robust public interest and attendance, IT Secretary S. Krishnan announced during a February 18 press conference that the associated AI Impact Expo has been extended by one day, now running through Saturday, February 21, 2026. The extension, under revised security protocols following the conclusion of high-level multilateral proceedings, aims to offer greater access—especially for students and working professionals unable to attend on weekdays.

The expo remains closed on February 19 due to the plenary session involving world leaders but will reopen on February 20. It hosts more than 400 exhibitors, including startups, major corporations, government agencies, and research institutions, displaying cutting-edge AI innovations.

The event has attracted significant crowds since its opening days, generating strong enthusiasm despite initial logistical pressures. Organizers’ decision to add the extra day seeks to accommodate this demand while ensuring smoother operations.

This summit highlights India’s increasingly prominent position in worldwide AI dialogue, convening policymakers and industry innovators to examine the technology’s opportunities and broader ramifications.
