New York : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming our society. AI can do a lot of tasks that previously depended on human input. This has led to fears that AI may soon replace humans in the workplace. This fear is not unjustified, with major companies such as TCS and Accenture already laying off thousands of workers.
Musk replied to a post on X that stated a recent report regarding Amazon’s plans to replace workers with AI and robots. The American giant is planning to cut over 1,60,000 jobs by 2027 with robots.The Tesla CEO’s comment might seem enough to panic, considering his immense knowledge regarding the future of the tech industry. However, Musk had more to say.
Moreover, the tech billionaire claimed that the world would have “universal high income.” Essentially, Elon Musk indicated that in the future, when AI does take over jobs, humans will have high income levels that would enable them to sustain their lifestyles without having to work.
Musk has mentioned such a possibility in the past. A way to achieve this may be through personal robots. In a post in August 2024, Elon Musk had stated that every human may have “their own personal R2-D2 and C-3PO.” R2-D2 and C-3PO are two robots from the movie series Star Wars.
