53 Afghan Children Sent Back After Illegally Entering Pakistan

Pakistani authorities have returned 53 Afghan children who illegally crossed into Pakistan through the Khyber district in search of work. The children had cut through the border fencing to enter Pakistan, officials said. The group was handed over to Afghan authorities at the Torkham border crossing on Sunday. This incident highlights the growing number of illegal border crossings, with around 700 such attempts occurring daily.
The return of the children comes amid increased border tensions, with Afghan minors attempting to cross into Pakistan for various reasons, including employment opportunities. The rise in illegal crossings has been a major concern for both nations, as the security situation along the border continues to be fragile.
