Reddit Down Today: Thousands Report US Outage On App And Site

New Delhi: A widespread disruption hit Reddit on Tuesday afternoon, leaving thousands of users in the United States unable to access the platform, as tracked by Down Detector.

The outage, which began at 6:10 p.m. ET, saw reports surge past 6,000 within minutes. Peak complaints reached 6,869 around 7 p.m. ET, with the majority 82 % stemming from malfunctions in the Reddit mobile application.

By 8:20 p.m. ET, the issues had largely resolved, dropping to just 20 reports or fewer, signaling a swift recovery for the affected services.

Frustrated Redditors turned to X to air their grievances during the brief blackout. One user quipped, “I swear, the only reason I’m ever in this app is to see if Reddit is down. BTW, it is.” Another simply declared, “Reddit is down.” A third echoed the sentiment: “Reddit is down.”

Reddit, a key social news aggregation and discussion site structured around user-moderated communities, remains under majority ownership by Advance Publications.
