OnePlus Global Shutdown Rumors Intensify as India CEO Resigns

Among the tech community the news of one plus shutting down is going viral again due to a post done by tipster Yogesh Brar which now has been deleted by him. Previously the news surfaced during January after a report circulated online by Android Headlines which was then busted by One Plus India CEO Robin Liu by coming forward and denouncing it publicly.
Now, the sudden resignation of the OnePlus India chief has once again fueled the rumours . OnePlus might pull the plug on smartphone operations in global markets as soon as April suggested by latest reports in the tech market.
According to a report by 9to5 Google, OnePlus will cease operations in specific regions, including vast portions of Europe in the following weeks.
Certain employees were informed of the decision ahead of time and provided with severance packages. The precise reasons for this shift remain unclear, but it appears that Oppo is changing its focus. This transition seems to explain the evolution of partnerships; for example, the collaboration with Hasselblad concluded with the OnePlus 15 but continues with Oppo’s premier devices. The challenging market is probably a factor, as Chinese brands face component shortages and increasing expenses, compelling companies to scale back.
Several OnePlus product releases are still upcoming, and many are unlikely to be offered outside China unless explicitly mentioned. The impact on support for current hardware, such as different software update promises and the community forums frequently used by the brand, is yet to be determined.
Realme has recently transitioned into an Oppo sub-brand, suggesting the possibility of OnePlus evolving into a budget label under the same umbrella. Although OnePlus has been under Oppo’s umbrella since 2021, the situation may shift further if international operations come to a halt. OnePlus previously assured that users would continue to receive complete after-sales support, software updates, and that their rights would be safeguarded
