“The World Cup Trophy Is Not The Final Achievement; It Is the Beginning Of A Long Journey,” Sachin Tells India’s Women’s Blind Cricket Team

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday met members of the Indian women’s blind cricket team, who recently won the first-ever T20 World Cup for blind women, at the MIG Cricket Club in Bandra (East). The Master Blaster congratulated the players on their extraordinary World Cup triumph and motivated them by sharing insights from his own illustrious career.

Sachin spent nearly an hour with the team, interacting at length, signing autographs and posing for photographs. He praised the Indian players—led by captain Deepika T.C. with Maharashtra’s Ganga Kadam as vice-captain—for their tireless hard work, confidence, resilience and determination that culminated in a historic World Cup victory.

“You remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and faced numerous challenges with courage and composure, ultimately fulfilling your own dreams and those of the nation,” Sachin told the players.

He also lauded the role played by the families of the women cricketers. Addressing the team, Sachin said, “Success always comes with greater responsibility. Public and national expectations from you will rise, and to meet them you will have to work even harder and stay more focused.”
