Rashid Khan Says He Will ‘Definitely Watch Border 2’ – Sparks Warm Responses from Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty

Afghanistan’s cricket captain Rashid Khan has enthusiastically joined the growing online excitement surrounding the upcoming Bollywood war drama Border 2, sharing a humorous social media post that has quickly gained traction.

Currently in Dubai participating in the Afghanistan versus West Indies cricket series, Rashid uploaded a light-hearted Instagram reel. The clip captures him standing roadside, casually roasting corn over coals, as a track from Border 2 plays in the background. In a playful caption, he wrote that he would “definitely watch Border 2,” while adding a cheeky note wondering what might happen after posting the video.

The post drew swift and affectionate replies from the film’s cast. Varun Dhawan, portraying Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the movie, commented “Haa bhaji” (Yes brother), while Ahan Shetty responded with “Lots of love bhai.” Veteran actor Suniel Shetty chimed in with “Ye hui na baat” (That’s what I’m talking about).

Border 2 is generating considerable anticipation as it prepares for a theatrical release on January 23, timed close to Republic Day. Directed as a sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border, the new project revives the patriotic war saga with Sunny Deol leading the cast, supported by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in prominent roles.

Rashid Khan is not alone among cricketers in endorsing the film. Indian batter KL Rahul previously shared a similar supportive video. Notably, Rahul is related to Ahan Shetty as his brother-in-law, adding a personal connection to the promotion.

The original Border, starring Sunny Deol alongside Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna, remains one of Hindi cinema’s most enduring war films. The sequel aims to carry forward that legacy with its nationwide release.
