Virat And Anushka Depart From Ahmedabad As RCB Heads To Bengaluru For Historic IPL Victory Celebrations

Ahmedabad: Following their monumental win at the IPL 2025 final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) players, along with star batter Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, were seen departing from Ahmedabad Airport en route to Bengaluru for the team’s official victory celebrations. The couple drew attention from fans and media alike, with visible pride and emotion marking the end of Kohli’s long-awaited IPL title journey.

RCB claimed their maiden IPL title on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, defeating Punjab Kings by a narrow six-run margin in a gripping final. The win ended an 18-year wait for both the franchise and Kohli, who broke into tears after the final whistle, overwhelmed by the moment.

In a post-match interview, Kohli credited his wife Anushka Sharma for standing by him through the emotional highs and lows of his career. “Anushka has witnessed all the heartbreaks and setbacks. She’s been my constant support for over 11 years,” Kohli shared. He also extended heartfelt thanks to his mother, brother, and coach, saying their faith kept him going through difficult times.

Calling the title one of the greatest moments of his life, Kohli added, “I’m not here just to participate—I’m here to keep evolving and winning matches for my team.”

Record-Breaking Traffic at Ahmedabad Airport

June 3 saw unprecedented activity at Ahmedabad Airport, with a record-breaking 51,500 passengers passing through the terminal due to the IPL final. This figure surpasses the previous record of 46,500 set on January 26, 2025, during the Coldplay concert. On the day of the final, the airport handled over 250 regular flights along with 16 chartered aircraft.

Celebrations in Bengaluru

As the RCB team arrives in Bengaluru, massive crowds have gathered outside Bengaluru Airport to welcome the champions. Heightened security has been deployed to manage the swelling fanbase. Later this evening, the players are scheduled to meet Karnataka Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister at the Vidhana Soudha. However, the previously planned open-bus victory parade has been called off due to logistical reasons and crowd control concerns, as per the report.

Despite the change in plans, Bengaluru remains charged with excitement as the city prepares to honor its long-awaiting IPL champions.
