During the IPL 2025 opening match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, a fan caused a security breach by rushing to meet Virat Kohli. The fan, deeply devoted to the cricket star, even touched Kohli’s feet in a sign of admiration. Security personnel quickly intervened and escorted the fan away, but not before the incident garnered widespread attention and went viral on social media.
The crowd erupted in applause as Kohli’s fans praised his gesture of humility, calling it a touching moment of fan devotion. On the field, Kohli played an outstanding innings, finishing unbeaten on 59 from 36 balls, while new recruit Phil Salt contributed with a quick-fire 56 off 31 balls. RCB secured a dominant seven-wicket victory, chasing down KKR’s target of 175 with ease in just 16.2 overs.
