India complete 2–0 whitewash over West Indies, equal a world record

New Delhi: India defeated the West Indies by seven wickets on the final day of the second and last Test, sealing a 2–0 series whitewash and equalling a world record in the process.


India beat West Indies in 10 consecutive series

With this victory, India matched South Africa’s world record for the most consecutive Test series wins against the same opponent — 10 series in a row.

South Africa had defeated the West Indies in 10 straight Test series between 1998 and 2024. India has now achieved the same feat, beating the West Indies in every Test series from 2002 to 2025.

Kuldeep Yadav (8 wickets in the match) was named Player of the Match.

Ravindra Jadeja (8 wickets and 104 runs in the series) received the Player of the Series award.

Unbeaten Rahul — the man of the day

After losing Yashasvi Jaiswal on Monday, India today saw Sudarshan (39) fall to a brilliant catch by Shai Hope, and Shubman Gill (13 runs, with one four and one six) dismissed while attempting an aggressive shot.

However, KL Rahul stood firm with an unbeaten 58 off 108 balls (2 sixes, 6 fours), guiding India safely to the target of 121 runs.

India finished at 124/3 in 35.2 overs, with Dhruv Jurel unbeaten on 6.

Match summary

In reply to India’s massive first-innings total of 518/5 declared, the West Indies were bowled out for 248 and made to follow on.

In the second innings, Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103) fought back to take the team to 390, setting India a target of 121 runs.

India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal (175 runs in the first innings) was the standout performer with the bat, while Shubman Gill contributed an unbeaten 129 in the same innings.
