India and Pakistan to clash in the Women’s World Cup Today

Rain may play spoilsport

Colombo: Today India and Pakistan will face off in the Women’s One-Day World Cup at the Colombo ground, starting at 3:00 p.m. Last Sunday, in the men’s Asia Cup, Suryakumar’s Indian team thrashed Salman Agha’s Pakistan side — and now, this Sunday, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team aims to hand Fatima Sana’s Pakistan team a similar humiliation.

Yesterday, rain in Colombo forced the cancellation of the Sri Lanka–Australia match, raising concerns that the India–Pakistan match on Sunday could also face interruptions from bad weather.

Just like in men’s cricket, the BCCI has maintained its policy that Indian players will not shake hands with any member of the Pakistan team.

In One-Day Internationals, India has won all 11 matches against Pakistan — each by a margin of at least 80 runs or five wickets.
