Amidst Tension, India Crushes Pakistan In Super Clash

Players from both nations face off; fireworks as Abhishek sets records

Dubai: India once again embarrassed Pakistan on the global stage by defeating them by six wickets in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup here on Sunday. India has maintained strong dominance over Pakistan in cricket for several years now, and this match was yet another proof of that. Most notably, Abhishek Sharma played a key role in this victory with his explosive batting in trademark style. At one point, tensions escalated on the field as players from both sides got into a heated exchange.

India chased down the target of 172 runs in just 18.5 overs, scoring 174 for 4. The biggest contributors were Abhishek Sharma (74 runs off 39 balls, five sixes, six fours) and Shubman Gill (47 runs off 28 balls, eight fours). The opening duo shared a crucial 105-run partnership. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed on just the third ball he faced, but Tilak Varma (unbeaten 30, with two sixes and two fours) and Hardik Pandya (unbeaten 7) finished the job. Earlier, Samson was out after scoring 13 runs.

Abhishek’s World Record

Abhishek Sharma became the fastest batsman to hit 50 sixes in T20 Internationals, achieving the feat in just 331 balls. He broke the previous world record held by Evin Lewis (366 balls).

Shivam Dube Takes Two Wickets

Earlier, Pakistan scored 171 for 5 in 20 overs, with a late-innings flourish. Opener Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 58 runs. No other batsman managed to cross 25. Shivam Dube took two wickets, while Hardik and Kuldeep claimed one each. Mohammad Nawaz was run out by captain Suryakumar. Pakistan posted 171 at a run rate of 8.55, setting India a target of 172.

Openers Sahibzada Farhan (58 off 45) and Saim Ayub (21 off 17) put together a 72-run partnership in 49 balls, but both were dismissed by Shivam Dube. First, Ayub was caught by Abhishek, and then Farhan was caught by Suryakumar.

Hardik Pandya claimed the first wicket for India, as he did in the last match against Pakistan. He dismissed dangerous opener Fakhar Zaman (15 runs) at the score of 21. Wicketkeeper Samson took a low catch. After Pakistan reviewed the decision, Sri Lankan third umpire Ruchira watched several replays before declaring Zaman out. In the September 14 match, Hardik had also taken a wicket immediately after bowling a wide.

Tensions Rise in Dubai

During the Super 4 match on Sunday, tensions flared on the field. As India’s victory seemed certain, Shubman Gill smashed a ball from Haris Rauf over the mid-wicket boundary. Rauf then said something to nearby Abhishek Sharma, who immediately responded. The argument escalated, and Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohail rushed in to calm things down. Rauf walked away, still muttering.

India Humiliates Pakistan Again

After defeating terrorist elements and their supporters in just three days during the recent military action, India has now defeated Pakistan’s cricket team twice within eight days. India and Pakistan haven’t played a bilateral series in 17 years, but under ICC rules, they are required to face each other in multinational tournaments. This Asia Cup provided such a stage, and India has beaten Pakistan twice, firmly asserting dominance.
