Former Indian Southpaw Yuvraj Singh will join the Delhi Capitals franchise as batting coach for IPL 2027. This will be the 44 year olds first gig as a coach
Like his father Yograj, Yuvraj too has aspirations to become a coach, he has previously worked as a batting coach privately for left handed batsmen that he deems talented, most notable of them is India’s hottest T20 Talent Abhishek Sharma.
The Delhi Capitals franchise has an unique way of management, wherein both the ownerships, GMR and JSW take up management for 2 years for one cycle, replaced by the another for next cycle.
The GMR group ran the team for 2 seasons post the mega auction, IPL 25 and 26, under head coach Hemang Badani. Badani will now make way for Sourav Ganguly for the period of 2 years under JSW’s management. It is learnt that Dada is keen to have Yuvraj Singh in the coaching setup and is the reason for his selection as coach.
Wholesale changes are expected when a change in management takes place and here it appears to be no different. Rumors are afloat that mant personnel changes are expected in the Delhi sides coaching setup, and former captain Axar Patel may let be go of captaincy in favour of KL Rahul.
There are also rumors that chinaman Kuldeep Yadav may be traded to LSG in exchange of a long time Delhi player, and former captain, Rishabh Pant.
