
Mumbai: The dates for the 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), popularly known as the Women’s IPL, have been announced. The fifth season of the tournament will be played from January 14 to February 7, 2027. The date for the player auction ahead of the season has also been confirmed.
The player auction will be held in Kochi on October 28 next month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced. However, the cities that will host the 2027 WPL matches have not yet been announced.

All five franchises will have to announce the players they have retained by September 28. The auction will provide the franchises with an opportunity to add new talent from India and overseas while also giving promising existing players a platform to develop and reach new heights.
Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Harmanpreet Kaur, have won the WPL title twice, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), captained by Smriti Mandhana, have also lifted the trophy twice. In February 2026, RCB became champions for the second time.
