India opener and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 star Sanju Samson was seen in an animated conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir after being left out of India’s playing XI for the second T20I against England at Old Trafford, where 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his international debut.
A video circulating on social media shows Samson speaking to Gambhir before the match. During the interaction, Gambhir is seen placing an arm around the wicketkeeper-batter and giving him a hug in what appeared to be an attempt to reassure him following the discussion.
While the exact details of their conversation are unknown, the clip quickly went viral, with several social media users speculating that Samson was disappointed after losing his place in the playing XI.
The footage shows Samson expressing himself animatedly, while Gambhir appears to explain the reasoning behind the team management’s decision. However, neither Samson nor the Indian team management has commented publicly on the nature of the conversation.
