Ahmedabad: Varun Chakaravarthy has become the third bowler to accomplish 100 IPL wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders following Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.
Sunil Narine tops the list with 196 scalps taking lead in wicket-takers for KKR Followed by Russell with 122 as per the CricViz data. Now the league has been joined by Chakaravarthy gaining third position with 100 wickets for the KKR Franchise.
Chakaravarthy reached the milestone after registering bowling figures of 2/34 in 4 overs against the Gujarat Titans on Friday.
In that match he dismissed Gujarat batters Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar.
As the Kolkata Knight Riders struggled in this IPL 2026 Season, it was the first time he managed to take wickets against the Gujarat Titans mirroring his teams.
Talking about the GT vs KKR match that took place on Friday, Shubham Gill’s brilliant 86 off 50 balls paved the way for GT to a five-wicket win in Ahmedabad.
This win was GT’s third consecutive victory, lifting them to fourth place on IMPL 2026 points table with six points from five matches, while KKR seems to be at the bottom of the list remaining winless.
Despite a few breakthroughs from KKR ‘s bowlers, including Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine, GT stayed ahead and locked them in the final over through Rahul Twatia and Shahrukh Khan.
