RANCHI: India and West Indies will face each other in the second match of their five-match T20 series on Friday, starting at 7:00 pm. There is now a stronger possibility of Vaibhav Suryavanshi getting an opportunity in place of Sanju Samson, as the youngster had an extensive batting practice session on Thursday. Samson has struggled in his last four consecutive T20 innings, scoring 9, 7, 2 and 11 runs. India will be eager to win on Friday and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Scattered rain has been forecast for Friday. India’s win-loss record in India stands at 42-9.
Wicketkeeper-batters Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Suryavanshi were both born in Bihar. Left-hander Kishan also enjoys huge popularity in Ranchi, Jharkhand, as he represents Jharkhand in domestic cricket and is regarded as a local player in the city. However, on Friday, everyone appeared more interested in watching Vaibhav’s power-hitting than Kishan’s batting. Police personnel and spectators gathered around the nets to watch the left-handed Vaibhav unleash his fireworks and enjoyed every shot he played.
Vaibhav did not disappoint them. He repeatedly sent the ball sailing beyond the boundary. The six-hitting specialist even sent some deliveries onto the sight-screen near the press-conference hall and into the stands.

Regular team members, including captain Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, did not come onto the field because it was an optional practice session. However, all the other players put in an extensive practice session.
