Mumbai: Family members of Indian cricket’s and especially the IPL’s little wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi had come to the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday to watch the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians match. Photos and videos that went viral after the game showed that almost every member of the Suryavanshi family looks strikingly similar.
Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav could not entertain the thousands of spectators at Wankhede — especially his family members — with his trademark sixes and boundaries on Sunday, but there was immense joy among his fans and relatives as Rajasthan eventually won the match and qualified for the playoffs.
After Mumbai chose to field first against Rajasthan, Vaibhav was dismissed early for just four runs.
The Suryavanshi family lives in the state of Bihar. A video of Vaibhav’s two brothers walking out of the Wankhede Stadium went viral on social media. The two brothers, who bear a close resemblance to Vaibhav, were seen leading the family while exiting the stadium. Social media users posted several positive comments about the video featuring Vaibhav’s family. Cricket fans congratulated the Suryavanshi family, and one user remarked that all family members looked almost identical.
Cricket lovers and media personnel standing nearby also congratulated the Suryavanshi family. Vaibhav has played a major role in helping Rajasthan qualify for the playoffs.
Both of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s brothers are also cricketers. A video from a local tournament featuring Vaibhav’s younger brother had gone viral a few days ago as well. Vaibhav currently earns Rs 1.10 crore per season from the Rajasthan franchise. However, there is strong speculation that franchises could bid several crores for him during the IPL 2027 auction.
Vaibhav also had the opportunity on Sunday to break Chris Gayle’s record of hitting the most sixes — 59 — in a single IPL season. His family members had specially come to witness and celebrate that milestone. However, since Rajasthan has qualified for the playoffs, Vaibhav still has another chance to break the record.

Rajasthan will face Hyderabad in the IPL Eliminator on Wednesday. If Rajasthan wins that match, the team will also play in Qualifier 2 and could then earn a place in the final.
