`Our paths were not meant to stay together’: Fiancée calls off engagement with well-known cricketer

Mumbai: The troubles for cricketer Prithvi Shaw, who has been out of the Indian team for quite some time, seem to be far from over, as his fiancée Akriti Agarwal has announced that the two have decided to part ways.

Prithvi and Akriti got engaged in March this year. Akriti announced their separation through social media, sharing an emotional note on Instagram to inform her followers about the decision.

Actress Akriti Agarwal wrote, `With a heavy heart, I want to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to our different goals for the future and the circumstances we are facing. Despite the love and care we have for each other, we have come to accept that our paths were not meant to stay together. Considering our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways.’

Akriti further wrote, `Truly, I wish both of us the greatest peace and happiness as we move forward. I request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time and refrain from speculating about the reasons behind our decision. Thank you for understanding and respecting our feelings.’

Prithvi is 26 years old. Born in Thane in 1999, he has represented India in five Tests, six ODIs and one T20I. He made his international debut for India in 2018 at the age of 18, but could not retain his place in the national team. In domestic cricket, he has represented Mumbai and West Zone, while in the IPL he has played for Delhi Capitals.

Akriti Agarwal is an actress and media influencer. Speculation about a strain in their relationship had been doing the rounds for the past few days.
