Prince Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi Replace Injured Harshit And Varun For Eng ODI’s, Zim T20I’S

The injured Harshit Rana will be replaced by fast bowler Prince Yadav in India’s team for the next ODIs against England, while Varun Chakaravarthy, who is also ailing, will be replaced by Ravi Bishnoi in the T20I squad for the Zimbabwe visit. Both Harshit and Varun suffered hamstring injuries after India’s crushing defeat against England in the Twenty20 International series. Rana reported experiencing acute pain in his right hamstring during the third Twenty20 International against England at Trent Bridge, according to the BCCI. A Grade 1 hamstring injury was discovered by further imaging. During the same match, Varun felt discomfort on his left hamstring; scans showed a more serious Grade 2 hamstring strain.

For additional evaluation management, both will now submit reports to the BCCI’s Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. This new setback occurs soon after they were sidelined for an extended period of time due to various ailments. Before missing the home series against Afghanistan and the Twenty20 Internationals in Ireland, Varun suffered a broken toe on his left foot during the 2026 Indian Premier League. Before being injured once more, he had a lackluster comeback in England (0/35 and 1/37).

During India’s warm-up match against South Africa, Rana had a knee injury that prevented him from participating in the home T20 World Cup in February and March, making his fitness setback much worse. Before making a comeback during the Ireland T20Is, he required surgery and recuperation.

With three wickets in his first two games, the outstanding Yadav made his ODI debut at home against Afghanistan. Following a successful IPL season with the Lucknow Super Giants, where he claimed 16 wickets in 14 games, he made his T20I debut in Ireland and played in three matches against England. Bishnoi, on the other hand, concluded with 11 wickets in 9 games for the Rajasthan Royals after having a strong opening six IPL games. Bishnoi has participated in 46 matches since making his T20I debut in 2022, the most recent being in the England series.

Despite having a difficult performance in Manchester and missing the remaining games, he has been called up to cover for Varun in Zimbabwe.

After playing three ODIs against England on July 14, 16, and 19, India will travel briefly to Zimbabwe for the three Twenty20 Internationals on July 23, 25, and 26.
