After one of the biggest player transactions in recent IPL history, Kuldeep Yadav will join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while former captain Rishabh Pant is scheduled to return to the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Pant rejoins the team where he played for nine seasons from 2016 to 2024, making 111 appearances, the most of any DC player. He captained the team in 43 games over four seasons from 2021 to 2024 and was one of the franchise’s defining figures for almost ten years. With less than a month since the TATA IPL 2026 concluded, this trade has been completed with record speed, with the Southpaw Pant taking a paycut of ₹12 crores.
Pant was purchased by LSG at the TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction for an unprecedented INR 27 crore, the highest winning bid in IPL history. He will rejoin DC at a revised cost of INR 15 crore after the trade.
After a five-year, incredibly successful tenure with the Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep joins LSG. The left-arm wrist spinner has taken 72 wickets in 65 games since joining the team in 2022, making him one of the tournament’s most potent wicket-takers.Kuldeep, one of the best white-ball bowlers in India, will sign with LSG for his current salary of INR 13.50 crore.
