India Win Men’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup for Fourth Consecutive Time

Moky (China): India, led by Anmol Ekka, defeated South Korea 4-1 in the final to win the Junior Men’s Hockey Asia Cup for the fourth consecutive time, securing the gold medal. The final, played on Sunday, turned into a one-sided contest. India had previously won all three editions of the tournament held in 2015, 2023 and 2024.

India have become the first country to win the Men’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup four consecutive times. Overall, this is India’s sixth title in the competition. With this triumph, India have also secured a place in the Junior Hockey World Cup.

A hockey match consists of four quarters of 15 minutes each, and India had taken a commanding 3-0 lead over South Korea by the end of the second quarter. Uttar Pradesh’s Ajit Yadav scored India’s first goal of the match. The other three Indian scorers were captain Anmol Ekka, Prabhdeep Singh and Ashu Maurya.

India also won the women’s title, and just as in the women’s team, Hockey India announced a cash reward of ₹3 lakh for each player of the men’s team and ₹1.5 lakh for every member of the support staff.
