DC vs PBSK: Big Blow For Delhi Capitals As Ngidi Suffers Serious Head Injury, Rushed To Hospital In Ambulance

New Delhi: Delhi Capitals suffered a major setback during their match against Punjab Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium after South African pacer Lungi Ngidi sustained a serious head injury while attempting a catch. An ambulance was immediately called onto the field, and Ngidi was rushed to hospital for further treatment.

The incident occurred when Punjab opener Priyansh Arya played a shot off Delhi captain Axar Patel. Ngidi attempted to take the catch but misjudged the trajectory of the ball. While he failed to hold onto the catch, he fell awkwardly and landed headfirst, suffering a serious injury to the back of his head. The physiotherapist and medical team rushed onto the field immediately and provided first aid before taking him to hospital.

At the time of the incident, Punjab Kings were 43 without loss in the third over. In-form batter Arya was on 19, while Prabhsimran Singh was batting on 21.

Ngidi had not bowled an over in the match. Delhi had opened the bowling with pacers Aqib Nabi and Mukesh Kumar. So far this season, Ngidi has taken seven wickets in six matches. The Delhi franchise had signed him for ₹2 crore.
