
London: Lord’s Cricket Ground in England, widely regarded as the Home of Cricket, is hosting its first-ever Women’s Test match, and India’s pace bowler Kranti Goud has etched her name into history. After claiming a five-wicket haul in the one-off Test against England on Saturday, Goud became the first woman bowler to earn a place on the prestigious Lord’s Honours Board.
Joins the Elite List of Legendary Bowlers
Kranti Goud is the first woman bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a Women’s Test innings at Lord’s. Her achievement places her among some of the world’s greatest bowlers and alongside 14 renowned Indian bowlers whose names are already featured on the iconic Honours Board. The list includes legendary names such as Kapil Dev, Bishan Singh Bedi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishant Sharma, all of whom have previously taken five or more wickets in a Test innings at the historic venue.
Celebrates the Milestone with Family on Video Call
Officials at Lord’s invited Kranti Goud to inscribe her name on the Honours Board. Before doing so, she connected with her family through a video call to share the special moment. Using a marker pen, she wrote “2026… Kranti Goud… India” on the board with her own hands.

The entire Indian women’s team and members of the coaching staff were present during the ceremony and applauded her remarkable achievement, making the occasion even more memorable. The Lord’s authorities later confirmed that the handwritten entry would be replaced with the official inscription, including her bowling figures of 5/37, in the same format as the other bowlers on the Honours Board.
