Ahmedabad Set to Host TATA IPL 2026 Grand Finale

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the much-awaited schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Playoffs, bringing an exciting close to the season’s high-stakes competition.

After a thrilling league phase featuring 70 matches filled with standout individual performances and intense contests, the tournament advances to its knockout stage. Qualifier 1 will see the top two teams from the points table clash on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The winner will secure a direct spot in the grand finale.

The playoffs will then shift to the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. On May 27, the third- and fourth-placed sides will battle it out in the Eliminator, with the victor advancing to face the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 on May 29 at the same venue. That match will decide the second finalist.

The season’s climax is scheduled for May 31, with the grand finale taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, recognized as the world’s largest cricket venue. This promises a memorable showdown under the lights in front of a massive crowd.

This year’s playoffs will be hosted across three different venues due to specific operational and logistical factors, marking a special arrangement for the 2026 edition. Bengaluru had initially been selected to stage the final. However, the venue was changed after local association and authority requirements fell outside the BCCI’s standard guidelines and protocols.
