The pacer shared a brief but encouraging update on social media, writing, “Thank you for the messages, all good,” marking his first public response after the incident.
The injury occurred during the April 25 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Ngidi was attempting to take a catch off a lofted shot from Priyansh Arya in the third over of Punjab Kings’ innings when he lost balance while tracking the ball. He fell backward, landing heavily on the back of his head and neck, which immediately raised concern among players and support staff.
Medical personnel rushed onto the field and attended to the bowler before he was stretchered off and transported to BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital for further evaluation. The incident briefly halted play as teammates and officials looked on with concern.
An official update from the IPL later confirmed that Ngidi was in stable condition and expected to be discharged soon. Delhi Capitals chairman and co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi also visited the player at the hospital following the incident.
