Hyderabad: Hyderabad defeated Bengaluru by 55 runs here on Friday night, yet there was little celebration in the Hyderabad camp. The reason was that the team led by Pat Cummins failed to finish in the top two of the points table, while Bengaluru managed to remain in the top two despite the defeat.
Bengaluru vs Gujarat Clash on Tuesday
As per the tournament rules, the top two teams at the end of the league stage play in Qualifier 1, and the winner of that match advances directly to the final. Bengaluru and Gujarat finished in the top two, and they will face each other in Qualifier 1 in Dharamshala on Tuesday.
Hyderabad, who had already secured a playoff berth, finished third and will now play the Eliminator against the fourth-placed team on Wednesday.
Rajasthan, Punjab, Kolkata and, to some extent, Delhi are still in contention for the fourth playoff spot. Mumbai, Lucknow and Chennai have already been eliminated from the competition.
