IPL 2026 | Abhishek Sharma’s Record-Breaking 135 vs DC Makes Him Only Batter With Two IPL Scores of 130-plus

No batter in IPL history had crossed 130 twice in an innings until Tuesday. Abhishek Sharma’s unbeaten 135 off 68 balls against Delhi Capitals gave SunRisers Hyderabad 242/3, and DC never threatened it, losing by 47 runs.

Ten sixes, ten fours. Exactly 100 of his 135 runs came off boundaries. It was his second IPL century, and it moved him onto a short, exclusive list six batters have ever hit 130-plus in an IPL innings, across seven total instances. Abhishek now accounts for two of those seven.

His first was a 141 against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, still the third-highest individual score in the tournament’s history, behind Chris Gayle’s 175 not out in 2013 and Brendon McCullum’s 158 not out in the competition’s very first match in 2008.

In IPL 2026, he’s leading everything that matters. Most runs: 323, three clear of teammate Heinrich Klaasen. Most sixes: 27, including ten on Tuesday more than any batter has hit in a single innings this season. RCB’s Rajat Patidar is next with 22. Abhishek has three fifty-plus scores this season, same count as Iyer, Gill, and Klaasen — but he’s the only one with a hundred among them. Strike rate of 215, third in the tournament behind Priyansh Arya (248) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (236.53).

  • AB de Villiers — 133* (RCB vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2015)
