India-Japan T20 Match Delayed By Rain : Indian Players Seen Playing Football, Gujarati Songs Entertain Spectators

A report from Sano city in Japan

Sano (Japan): As the Asian Games are currently being held in Japan, India and Japan are scheduled to play their only T20 match in Sano city today. However, the rain has put a dampener on the start of this historic match.

The match was scheduled to begin at 9:30 am, but it could not start. Although the rain has stopped, play has been delayed because the ground remains wet. During the free time, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan were seen playing football. To entertain the spectators, the organisers started playing songs, including some popular Gujarati songs.

Meanwhile, the Japanese players, led by captain Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming, were seen practising their catching skills.

The umpires decided to inspect the ground once again at 11:45 am before taking a decision on whether the match could be played.

India’s men’s team will play its first match of the Asian Games T20 tournament on September 28. India have received a direct entry into the quarter-finals.
