IND VS ZIM : US-Imported ‘Dew Cure’ Chemical Sprayed At Chepauk For Must-Win Clash

Chennai : After losing to South Africa  by a huge margin of 7 runs Team India worries to catch pace in the ongoing run for the T20 World Cup. The upcoming match is just a hope to be in the race but also to come out with flying colors in remaining matches against Zimbabwe and West Indies. In total, at this stage, India could barely think of losing its chase from this point.

India is set to win the T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. Today the Indian Team will play against Zimbabwe at Chepauk during night time. The venue faces some challenges as it comes along with some considerable amount of dew in second innings during this time  which aids batting easier but makes it tough for the bowlers under such circumstances.

In order to keep the fairness of the game, the Chepauk stadium is to make avail of a significant chemical known as ‘Dew Cure’ to combat any challenges while the player plays, as informed by the Indian express. The chemical has been imported from the USA.

Details about ‘Dew Cure’

As per the reports, the chemical was started to be used from Tuesday itself in order to overcome any obstacles while playing cricket. With the aim to smoothly carry out the game the dew cure was dropped again on the grounds of the stadium so that it cuts dew during the night.

Traditionally, Chepauk has been a surface where spinners hold sway. The pitch grips making the ball move and batter for holding their patience for batting. However, once moisture gets settled in the grass and the white ball begins to skid, that advantage  gets lower down length balls come on quicker while the misted shots travel long. The mistake gets reduced by the bowler not the batters once the pitch is set.

The toss has its own importance. On one hand, playing under lights is preferred to chase when heavy dew is expected; on the other hand defending a margin with a wet ball becomes a whole new craft. Grips become unreliable, slower balls lose bite and yorkers become hard to execute.

Indian and Zimbabwe are set to chase runs with most awaited fans cheering for the best to win.
