According to a report in The Times of India, star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is getting closer to being selected for India’s three-match Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan next month after a five-month break.
In addition to Pandya, Washington Sundar is getting close to receiving the approvals needed to be selected for the Afghanistan series, and Nitish Kumar Reddy is also eligible for selection.
According to the report, Reddy and Pandya have been training at the BCCI Center of Excellence and are working hard to make their respective comebacks to international cricket.
Sundar, on the other hand, is scheduled to return to the CoE this week to demonstrate his fitness before to selection after spending the weekend in Chennai. To choose the squad for the three Twenty20 Internationals, the men’s senior selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, may convene this week.
“The T20Is against Afghanistan are the realistic goal, which will enable Sundar to return to the setup with the shortest format. According to a source who spoke to The Times of India, “his workload has gradually increased in the last few weeks and he could be available for selection for the three T20Is.”
