London: Chelsea F.C. have won the English Premier League title six times and the UEFA Champions League twice. However, events on Tuesday have put the club in serious trouble, raising the possibility that they may fail to qualify for the Champions League.
On Tuesday, Chelsea suffered a 0–3 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in the Premier League, significantly denting their qualification hopes. Following this loss, Chelsea slipped to seventh place in the standings. Only the top five teams in the Premier League qualify for the Champions League. With just four rounds remaining, Chelsea now face an uphill battle to secure a place in Europe’s elite competition.
For Brighton, Ferdi Kadioglu scored in the 3rd minute, Jack Hinshelwood found the net in the 56th minute, and Danny Welbeck added a goal in the 91st minute.

Chelsea’s current struggles are largely due to their poor form across competitions, having lost seven of their last eight matches. Remarkably, the team that won the Club World Cup just a year ago has managed only one victory in their last nine games. Furthermore, Chelsea players have failed to score a single goal in their last five matches. Football experts note that the club’s current situation is as dire as it was back in 1912—the ill-fated year of the Sinking of the Titanic.
